The Ninth Annual Shorty Awards took place at the PlayStation Theatre in New York City on April 23rd, 2017 and honored the best content creators and producers on Social Media. The Shorty Awards also known as The Shorty’s is an annual award ceremony that displays excellence in recognizing the people and organizations who are making waves across the internet. They use popular platforms like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr, You Tube and more to share thier voices and content.

It was an awesome night filled with many social media rock stars, Tabou TMF attended and walked the Teal Carpet along with The Blackout Co-Creators Nukirk and Marissa Rei who won a Shorty Award for Tumblr Blog Of The Year. The show was hosted by Tony Hale from HBO’s Veep series and had many notable presenters and guests in attendance including Bill Nye The Science Guy, Dr. Oz, Ari Fitz, Franchesca Ramsey, Shay Mitchell, Taryn Manning, Skai Jackson and more..

A few of the other notable winners includes Chrissy Teigen, Orange Is the New Black, Doug the Pug, Simone Biles, Women In Tech, Thomas Sanders, Dodie Clark, Olympics News Lab at Google and Adobe Photoshop “There’s Magic Inside”. The Awards Ceremony was followed by an after party where guests enjoyed music, cocktails and good company in an amazing atmosphere with one of a kind views at the Refinery Rooftop lounge located at the Refinery Hotel New York City.
