Today’s Turntable Tuesday selection from my personal vinyl collection is Hit It Up by the Sporty Thievz. This song was the follow-up to their gold single No Pigeons the rap reply to TLC’s No Scrubs. This 12-inch single was released in 1999 and featured on The Best Man soundtrack. The Yonkers, NY based group originally a trio, consists of King Kirk (a.k.a. Thieven Stealburg), Big Dubez (a.k.a. Safecracker) and Marlon Bryant Brando (a.k.a. Robin Hood) who passed away in 2001.
